18 May Lake District Camping Trip
I went camping at Easter. It’s been years since I’ve camped so it was kind of a test to see if I still could. After successfully putting the tent up in the rain, and finding out we’d kept it perfectly dry inside, my sister and I congratulated ourselves and prepared for 3 days in the rainy, snowy Lake District. Delicious!
I’m not being sarcastic – it actually was delicious. There doesn’t seem to be much point in complaining about bad weather in the UK, and I loved photographing all the moody, stormy skies and waking up to snowy peaks. It certainly makes you all the more appreciative of any sunny breaks in the clouds which, on the last day, gave us chance to walk round Buttermere. Haystacks (the beautiful mountain after the tunnel shots) is beckoning me for next time … perhaps a summer camping trip though!
