12 Nov Cheese and Cider at Common Bar
At the end of September, The Moss Cider Project held its second Cheese and Cider event, an evening of tasty goodness, held this year at Common Bar in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, as part of the Manchester Food and Drink Festival 2012.
Each of the five rounds paired a different cheese and cider, culminating with the latest batch of Moss Cider of course. Favourite cheese for me was the Cerney Mini Ash from Gloucestershire – it is actually coated in a smoky oak ash, delicious! The cider boys, Dan and Joe from The Moss Cider Project, were full of knowledge about each of carefully chosen delicacies and the crammed room seemed to be enjoying themselves plenty! The new ‘Moss Floss’ machine even made an appearance, churning up apple flavoured candy floss for everyone.
Moss Cider is not yet widely available, but if you take a look at their facebook page, twitter feed or newsletter, you’ll hear of the next event where you can sample some of this uncommon cider for yourself!
