07 Jun I Could Be A Part Time Model…
… no, I couldn’t. It’s just a Flight of the Concords reference, that bears ever-so-slight relevance to this blog post about my new job … the part time bit.
Firstly, let me reassure you, my work at Hannah Beatrice headquarters is continuing exactly the same. There will be no change to my level of commitment, energy and passion for that. Indeed, I hope to take on more weddings and will continue to be available for freelance illustration and graphic design.
However I have always, in addition to this, been an employed graphic designer too, between Tuesdays and Thursdays, at The Agency Creative in Bowdon. A wonderful place to work, it gave me chance to produce graphics for Alma de Cuba, Radisson Blu Hotels and Kro Bars as well as numerous other brilliant places (– I did actually ‘model’ for an Umbro catalogue at one point…er, yep, that’s me with my head cut out).
But all good things must come to an end and, after six years there, it was time for a change. This week, I began a new job to fill my Tuesdays to Thursdays, at Manchester charity, The Message Trust. They work with hard-to-reach young people in schools, local communities and prisons. My particular role as part of the in-house Message:Creative team will be to provide designs for the new Message Enterprise Centre businesses, including a bike shop, café, and beauty salon.
I’m sure I’ll share more with you in the weeks and months to come, but for starters here’s some shots from a few weeks ago, when I popped in on a photography commission. These are two of the street dancers from the Message Academy …
